A Happy Birthday card and bonus bookmark using Stampin’ Up! Unbounded Love Bundle and Wildly Flowering designer paper
Have you been tempted with pre-ordering a new releasing book? Sometimes they give you a few perks just for placing the order early. Don’t you need a card to go with the new book, especially if it’s a gift for someone special in your life? I hope you will enjoy this little card that’s easy to make and can be done with any colors and designer series paper.
A Wildly Flowering handmade card using Unbounded Love stamp set
To begin this card, I searched my designer series paper and a greeting stamp set. This drew me to the Wildly Flowering 12”X12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) (163323). The colors amazingly work so well together and the background texture in the paper is really lovely. You can mix and match many of the designs together. I also used the Unbounded Love Bundle (163384) with awesome words for various occasions and a few of the die cuts. They make amazing frames and fill in pieces to stamp sentiments on.
Are you intrigued? Let’s dive in…

I cut a piece of Wild Wheat Cardstock (#161725) measuring 5 ½ X 8 ½ and scored at 4 ¼, flipped over and then scored at 2 1/8 for the card base. Fold each of these score lines so you have a Z Fold.
Then I cut Designer Series Paper from the Wildly Flowering DSP (#163323) for the left side of the card in the blue with the subtle flowers measuring 2 1/8 X 5 ½ and adhering it to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755). It goes right to the edges. Then using the paper trimmer (#152392) and lining up the middle of the left side up to the top score line cut off that section. This creates the pocket for the bookmark to slip into! Adhere the left side and bottom with a thin line of Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755).
Choose a coordinating DSP and cut it to 4 X 5 ¼. I used the blue background with the white flowers (it has the crumb cake backing). Cut the DSP at 2 ½ X 5 ¼ and adhere it to a piece of Basic White Cardstock (#159276) measuring 4 X 5 ¼ using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755) to the right of the Basic White piece.
I chose a sentiment “You’re a true blessing” from the Unbounded Love Stamp set (#163378) and stamped it in Wild Wheat Ink (#161651) on the Basic White Cardstock (#159276) to the left. On a scrap piece I stamped the sentiment one more time but in Misty Moonlight Ink (#153118) and cut out “blessing”. I glued this over the Wild Wheat “blessing”. This piece can then be attached to the inside of the card base.
With the remaining DSP of 1 ½ X 5 ¼, I trimmed the 5 ¼ length down to 4”. I used a corner punch on the bottom corners (retired product). With a label die from Unbounded Love (#163383) I cut a piece with Basic White cardstock scrap and scored it at 1 1/8”. I stamped the words Faith and Hope in Wild Wheat ink (#161651) and added a few flowers from Flowers of Beauty stamp set (#163374) in Misty Moonlight Ink (#153118) around the words. I attached this label tab to the top of the DSP. I made sure that it fit into the pocket with Faith showing and just created a bookmark!
The focal point is the “Happy Birthday” that I stamped on Basic White Cardstock (#159276) with Misty Moonlight Ink (#153118) and cut with the leaf label from Unbounded Love Dies (#163383) I cut out another leaf label and double leaf with Wild Wheat Cardstock (#161725). I used a piece of vellum (retired product) cut with the fifth smallest Deckled Circle Dies (#162286) and glued the double leaves and then the Happy Birthday sentiment to the vellum. I then carefully put glue around the frame and added that making sure to put glue only on the leaves that would be on the vellum. I then used four Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430) to adhere this to the front of the pocket keeping it close to the left hand side of the sentiment.
The finishing touch was adding three wheat color 2023-2025 In Color Opaque Sparkle Dots (#163782).
If you wanted more space to write you can always add another Basic White Cardstock (#159276) panel measuring 1 7/8 X 5 ¼ to the back of the pocket. It might be a good idea to write or stamp what you want before adhering it down.
This card idea can be used for a variety of milestones, events or occasions. It’s also a great way to use Wildly Flowering or any other designer series paper!
