Sending Thanks and Sending Love Inspired Handmade Cards
One of my favorite colors is purple. We have a deep Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Up! Color that is rich and perfect for this time of year. It goes so well with Wild Wheat and Pretty Peacock – two other colors that I really like and enjoy working with. The Regal Winter Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Regal Winter Suite Collection has such amazing paper that features these colors along with Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy and Berry Burst.
We used the Regal Flora stamp set at one of my recent In-person Card Workshops to create a one-sheet wonder and make cards from our designs. Working with this set I wanted to showcase it for this month’s Blog as well. Sadly, it has already been moved to the Last Chance with Stampin’ Up, so parts are marked down and once they are sold out it won’t be available. The one thing that continues to be available is the lovely Regal Foiled Adhesive-Backed Dots. They come in four colors and make a project come alive. Handmade Cards using Blackberry Bliss and Regal Winter Suite Collection

The hardest part of starting this card project was choosing which paper to use. I thought about the colors and knew the two designs in Blackberry Bliss would work great. So, I pulled out the two sheets from the Regal Winter 12X12 Designer Series Paper (#164156) and layered them on top of each other. I then used my Paper Trimmer (#152392) to cut a strip at 4“, and then cut it at 5 ¼”. Keeping the two pieces together, I then cut them at an angle about 1 ¾” from the top right to about 3 ¼” down the left side. I used one piece on each card from each design. This method is a great way to use DSP and show off the different papers and their coordination. Each paper in this pack of DSP would make amazing cards with this method.
I then cut a piece each of Blackberry Bliss (#133675) and Wild Wheat (#161725) Cardstock to 4 ¼” X 5 ½”. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755) and Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430) to adhere the pieces together. I glued the DSP to the Blackberry and Wild Wheat Cardstock leaving a small border. I then cut a piece of the Blackberry Bliss & Gold ½” Textured Ribbon (#164039) and taped it to the back of the cardstock aligning it over where the DSP joined. This ribbon is so easy to work with and makes amazing bows!
Using the Regal Flora Stamp set (#164157) from the Regal Winter Suite Collection, I stamped the flowers in Wild Wheat Ink (#161655) and the leaves in Pretty Peacock Ink (#150083) onto Basic White cardstock (#159276). I used the Regal Flora Dies (#164033) to cut out each item. I also die cut the design, one from glitter paper and one in Wild Wheat cardstock. The label from the Regal Flora Dies (#164033) I cut using the white and gold Regal Distressed 12X12 Specialty DSP (#164037). On a scrap of Basic White cardstock (#159276) I stamped the “sending love your way” twice with Blackberry Bliss Ink (#147092) and the “thanks” once. I trimmed the sentiments and flagged one of them using Paper Snips (#103579). The die cut pieces I arranged on the label and then attached it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430). I then added the sentiments. I adhered the front panels to a Basic White Thick (#159229) card base measuring 8 ½ X 5 ½ and scored at 4 ¼. I used three of the Blackberry Bliss dots on each card from the Regal Foiled Adhesive-backed Dots (#164038).
I really love how these two cards turned out. I am not sure which one I like best. Which one is your favorite?
