Thank You Card | Oceanfront and Seaside Bay Bundles

A cheerful Thank You card using Oceanfront and Seaside Bay stamps featuring 2022-2024 In Colours.

What comes to mind when you think of the seaside? Sandy or rocky beach? Tide going in and out? Seagulls swooping down? Shells and colorful rocks or fossils? Is the wind blowing in your face and there is a special scent in the air? Our senses come alive as we just stand and listen and look!

Within a few short weeks the Annual Catalogue will be replaced with a new one. Some things will remain and others will be retired. As I flipped through the catalogue, I saw two sets that I wanted to combine together. Oceanfront (Pg 84) and Seaside Bay (Pg101) stamps which also have coordinating dies (Pg 166). These two sets are great scene building ones and can be used with various colors to create special cards.

Oceanfront doesn’t have any sentiments and it can be just a scene or you can add a sentiment from another stamp set. The Seaside Bay does have three sentiments for various occasions.

Handmade Thank You Card Using Oceanfront and Seaside Bay Stamps and Die Set

Let’s take a look at my card and see how I created it.

Thank You card created using Stampin' Up! Oceanfront and Seaside Bay stamp and die sets.

For the card base I used basic white thick cardstock (#159229) measuring 5 ½ X 8 ½ and scored at 4 ¼.
I cut a matting layer of Orchid Oasis Cardstock (#159267) 5 ½ X 4 ¼ and stamped with Orchid Oasis Ink the speckles from Oceanfront on the edge all around the cardstock. I adhered this right to the edges of the white card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755).

I cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock (#159276) measuring 3 ¾ X 5 and stamped the Oceanfront stamps for the sky in Tahitian Tide (#159210) and the water in Orchid Oasis (#159214) followed by the sand in Crumb Cake (#147116) and stamped that twice. Using the Crumb Cake (#147116) ink I stamped the shells in the sand at the bottom of the sand.

And the final piece stamped on this cardstock was the grass to the right of the water and sand in Parakeet Party (#159208) ink. Next, I ran this through the embossing folder Timeworn Type 3D (#156505) to give it some texture. I adhered it on top of the Orchid Oasis mat with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755) making sure the border was the same on all sides.

Using scraps of colored cardstock (Mossy Meadow Cardstock (#133676) and Petal Pink Cardstock (#146985)), I die cut grass and shells with the Seaside Bay Dies (#160444). I adhered them to the card front with Mini Glue Dots (#103683).

On a piece of Basic White Cardstock (#159276) I stamped the large bird in Memento Black Ink (#132708), coloring him with Stampin’ Blends Ivory (#154922) and Crumb Cake (#154882) for the body and feathers and his eye with TahitianTide (#159221). I inked the three shells in sand with Flirty Flamingo (#147051) ink and using a Sponge Dauber (#133773) with Crumb Cake (#147116) ink gently rolled some color on the edges of the shells before stamping it to the cardstock. I cut the bird and these three shells using the Seaside Bay Dies (#160444). These I adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430) for the bird and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108) for the shells placing them on top of the shells in Crumb Cake (#147116) ink. The Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals fit perfectly!

I chose the “Thank you for everything” sentiment from the Seaside Bay stamp set ((#160436) and cut it with the Stylish Shapes Dies (#159183). I love the combination of script in this sentiment. I stamped it with the Starry Sky (#159212) ink. To finish off the card I added two birds and a dragonfly from the Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & BIrds (#162743). These are some of my favorite embellishments as they are a lovely gold and flat giving some specialness to a card. They pull the scene together.

Where would you prefer to be, at the seaside like my card or on a mountain top?
