We Go Together Like Milk & Cookies | Perfect Pairs Stamp Set

A Perfect Pairs Stamp Set Inspired Handmade Card

What things go together in pairs in your world? When I look around my craft room, I see paper and scissors, or paper and glue, or paper and ink! Other things that come to mind are pie and ice cream, hamburgers and fries, tea and shortbread. Or movies and popcorn!

I challenged myself to create a card with the Perfect Pairs stamp set and I didn’t check how anyone else had used it! I had great fun coming up with this card. I hope that you see the joy this stamp set can bring to yourself and others.

I decided to use the milk carton and the cookie to start off, and then considered colours and how to create a focal point with these pairings. For the paper supplies I used a basic white thick cardstock (#159229) for the card base measured 5 ½ X 8 ½ and scored at 4 ¼. Inside I stamped “you complete me” in Early Espresso ink (#147114). I cut out two hearts from the More than Autumn die cut set (#164075) from a scrap of Real Red cardstock (#102482) and glued them to the right of the sentiment with Multi purpose Liquid glue (#110755). I set this aside and then worked on the front of the card.

I chose to use Copper Clay cardstock (#161721) as the mat measuring 5 ½ X 4 ¼. I cut a piece of Real Red cardstock (#102482) to 4 X 5 ¼ and ran it through the Embossing Folder Forever Plaid (#164049). I cut a piece of DSP from Perennial Lavender papers (#162593) that has a crumb cake plaid design which measured 1 ½ X 3. I glued this to the embossed real red cardstock more to the right of the piece. I wrapped copper clay linen thread (#164071) around the real red piece about an inch up the card three times and taped it on the back. I created a bow by doubling the thread and using my bow maker. I attached it to the right-hand side with a mini glue dot (#103683). The real red cardstock was then glued to the copper clay and then this was put on the front of the card base.

I stamped the milk carton, the cookie and the sentiment in memento black ink (#132708) on basic white (#159276) giving enough space to cut them out with the third from the smallest Deckled Circles Dies (#162286). I stamped the Perfect Pair sentiment on basic white (#159276) and used the smallest die from the Deckled Rectangle Dies (#159173) and adhered it to the bottom left side of the card over the copper clay linen thread with Stampin’ Up Dimensionals (#104430). I stamped the sentiment one more time in the Real Red ink (#147084) and fuzzy cut the Together and glued it on top of the black one. This piece was then glued to the card. The milk carton was stamped with the cow in pecan pie ink (#161665). He’s so cute and could be stamped in memento ink instead!

I coloured the carton and straw plus the cookie with Stampin’ Blends. These pieces were attached to the card with Stampin’ Up Dimensionals (#104430). The final touch was adhering three adhesive backed Swirl Dots (#163464) in the cream colour.

The card is fun and cheery. I trust you will enjoy recreating this card or one like it with a different stamp set and papers.
