Card Template #8: Prairie Grass stamps, Charming Days die cuts and Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection

A diverse card template that works great with any stamp set you have on hand.

The cards each have flowers or grasses featured on them, but you could use other objects as well. Think about your stamp sets and what you could use to create a similar card. Add a bit of paper, a bow and some embellishments and you’ll have a winner of a card.

Are you ready to be inspired and see Card Template #8?

Card template #8 measurements

For each of the cards, I used a Basic White thick card stock measuring 5 ½” X 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”. Let’s take a look at what I did to each one. I liked the finished look of the white backgrounds with each card. I hope you enjoy what I’ve made for you.

Card Example #1: You’re Not Alone card using Prairie Grass Stamp Set

You're Not Alone using Prairie Grass Stamp set

The card base is Basic White Cardstock (8 ½” X 5 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”). I cut a piece of Basic White with the Nested Essential largest rectangle die and also the label from the Inspiring Imperfections die set.

On the rectangle piece I stamped with Mossy Meadow ink the bullrush looking shrub from the Prairie Grass stamp set, right in the center of the piece. I also stamped the sentiment “You’re not alone I’m here for you” on the label piece in Secret Sea ink. It fits perfectly in this die cut!

From the Beautiful Bokeh 6X6 DSP I chose the Berry Burst piece and cut it into ½” X 4 ¼”, three times. I flipped one of them over and adhered them to the card front starting 2” down from the top, alternating the colors leaving a 1/8” gap.

Next, I added the rectangle piece with dimensionals to the left of the card over the strips, and then placed the sentiment piece overhanging on the right using a dimensional on the right side.

I tied a double bow with linen thread and using a glue dot adhered it at the bottom of the grasses. The 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls in Secret Sea were added and also a dragonfly from Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Bird. The colors go well together and the message lets whoever receives it that someone cares.

Simple but special!

Card Example #2: Happy Birthday card with Charming Days Die Cuts

Happy Birthday card with Charming Days die cuts

The Floral Charm Suite has amazing papers with great colors in the DSP and awesome die cuts that do a perfect job for the stamped images, plus five other dies that you can embellish your cards with. I didn’t use the flower stamps for this card but the Happy Birthday. It’s a lovely script and size. I stamped it in Secret Sea at the bottom right of the card base. You could use any of the sentiments from this stamp set for this card!

I cut out three strips measuring ½” X 4 ¼” from the Floral Charm DSP and it was the one with the leaves and Timid Tiger flowers on the other side. On the Basic White cardstock base (8 ½” X 5 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”) I glued the strips down 1 ¾” from the top alternating them.

I cut out the largest banner from Nested Essentials dies with Basic Beige cardstock and using dimensionals adhered it on top of the strips to the left. I cut out the longer leaves from Mossy Meadow cardstock, and the single flower with leaves from Berry Burst cardstock. These were from the Charming Day Dies. They have such great detail. These I glued down onto the Basic Beige banner.

I tied a bow with the Basic Beige ribbon and adhered it on top of the flower stem at an angle. Then added three small gems from Regal Foiled Adhesive-Backed Dots, the blue ones. They give a bit of sparkle. I love how this one turned out and stamping the Happy Birthday directly on the card worked so well.

Would you change anything?

Card Example #3: Thank you for everything card from Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection

Thank you for Everything card from Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection

The annual catalogue showcases this Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection over six pages (52-57) It has two stamp sets, two die sets, an embossing folder, gems, ribbon and 6X6 DSP. I haven’t had opportunity to play with all the parts yet, but there are some really great features to this collection. It’s a bit vintage too.

I used card base of Basic White (8 ½” X 5 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”) and another piece of Basic White measuring 4 ⅛” X 5 ⅜” and embossed it with the Damask Designs Embossing Folder. You have to make sure the motifs will go the direction you want them to. I think the folder has them going the wrong direction, but it’s easy to solve just by turning your paper before you put it through the machine. It comes out with a very lovely design. Reminds me of wallpaper in a Victorian home. I glued this down to the Basic White card base. There is just a little border around the card. White on White is so appealing.

There is a piece of DSP in the Beautiful Gallery 6X6 paper that has a Damask motif on it with Calypso Coral on one side and a Basic Beige on the other. I cut three strips from this piece measuring ½” X 4 ¼” and alternated them on top of the embossed Damask piece. They went right to the edges.

I cut a rectangle label from the Perennial Postage dies that is about 1 ½” X 2 ⅜” from Basic White cardstock. And I stamped the flower from Gallery Blooms stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I used the Old Olive and Calypso Coral blends to color the leaves and flower petals. This was adhered to the card with dimensionals to the left over the strips. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Motifs stamp setThank you for everything” in Calypso Coral ink and die cut with the smallest of the Textured Notes Dies.

I looped some ribbon with Calypso Coral ribbon (in my stash) and taped it down, the added a bow with a glue dot. The sentiment was added on top of the ribbon with dimensionals. The final thing were the embellishments of three large Flower Accents. They lay nice a flat and add a bit of gold shine.

I am amazed at how different the three cards look using the same card template, but different colors and die cuts.

It was fun to make these card examples and it didn’t take too terribly long to put them together. Deciding which products to use, I’m sure took longer! I am thankful I have each of these sets in my stash now for future card making and other projects.

Enjoy these final weeks of summer before we welcome autumn. May you be inspired to pull out some of your supplies and try this card template #8. Tweak it, change it up or follow it exactly. But above all have fun!
